Pretty Little Details- Blog Post

We're a brand new wedding & events styling business based in Lanarkshire, currently busy with our first ever wedding season. Taking a leap into a new industry just over a year ago hasn't been without it's challenges. We weren't new to business, co-owner Billy (or dad as I call him) has owned and managed businesses in other sectors for decades, and I have managed his courier business for some years now. Early last year we were brain storming new business ideas, something I could really get involved with and let my passions shine. We had a large warehouse space we weren't using for anything productive. As fate would have it, I also found myself in the midst of planning my own wedding after my fiancé had proposed. Having always had an eye for detail and the passion and drive to provide a top quality service...it quickly became apparent this was the industry I needed to be in. I dived straight into researching and finding quality supplies. I spoke with other suppliers throughout the industry, I spoke with brides to be to find out what they looked for and what they really wanted...all while having the advantage of being a bride myself of course. What started as a small investment to "see where it goes" quickly spiralled as it became apparent I might actually be good at this! We put together our showroom so I could have potential clients in to chat with them in person and build up that familiarity with them...it is so important to me to be able to have couples in to physically see what they're getting, both in terms of product and service. I never wanted to be simply just a hire company, I wanted to create an experience. This was my number one priority from wedding planning myself. You need to find suppliers you bond with, you're going to be dealing with them for potentially 2 years or more. It's about so much more than the on the day service. We can make any room look pretty but will it be YOU? I believe the success we've had so far in our first year has been purely down to the personalised service we've offered each individual couple. We spend hours getting to know people, adding in little bits to their setup that they hadn't thought of or didn't know they'd like. I treat every single wedding setup like I'm doing my own again and that's the main priority I keep in mind at all times. The main thing I love about this is how everyone is so different and for that reason...your wedding should be personal to you. I strongly believe your wedding day should be an extension of who you are as a couple.

Flash forward one year on and we've experienced a first year far busier than I had ever anticipated, with bookings everywhere from town halls to castles and everything in between. We love meeting new people, both potential clients and other suppliers. You'll always find us the same way no matter how much pressure we're under, our client's come first and we'll remain friendly and professional.

I know we have a long way to go in this industry and so much to learn, our portfolio is very much still growing, but this job is something that challenges and excites me every single day and the end result of seeing a couple's special day come to life through a combination of their chosen suppliers is just beautiful. I can't wait for all the wonderful experiences still to come and all the incredible couples we get to work with.
